Omar Abu Risha (1910-1990) was a Syrian poet from Manbij, near Aleppo. After studying at the University of Damascus, the American University of Beirut, and University of Manchester, he returned to Syria, inspired by both Abbasid poetry and Western Classic poets such as Shakespeare, Baudelaire, and Poe. Risha also served as an ambassador to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, India, Austria, and the United States. Source
